The jury is still deliberating

I know, I know… this isn’t the post you were expecting. But before you object, let me explain.

First, I owe my silent jury (yes, still no comments!) a little more time to deliberate. The case of padding-left vs. margin-left remains open, and I’m still hoping for twelve votes — ideally from experts, but anyone who’s followed this series is qualified to weigh in. So, leave a comment. Cast your vote. Help me reach a verdict. Your input matters more than you think. Despite my best efforts, the verdict is indeed still elusive.

Second, I need a plan B, just in case the twelve votes never materialize. If the jury remains silent, I may have to take matters into my own hands and deliver a verdict solo — not ideal, I know, but the case can’t stay open forever. Now, if you’ve read the two previous posts, you know how deceptively complex this question turned out to be. So, I need more time to keep investigating myself and hopefully discover new evidence.

Third, even if I manage to reach a verdict — whether by jury or by necessity — I still won’t be able to resume my interrupted post right away. Why? Because another decision awaits: the choice of length unit. And yes, that one too is proving more complicated than anticipated. Especially when the final choice depends on whether I go with padding or margin! So rather than resume the post only to interrupt it again, I’ll need more time to figure this out properly — and perhaps give that topic the full post it deserves.

So, dear readers, bear with me. I promise the investigation continues. And if your patience starts to wear thin, help me assemble a proper jury—twelve qualified commenters ready to weigh in and deliver their expert opinion.
