No post this week. Not for lack of ideas, nor even for lack of discipline, but simply because neither the strength nor the morale is there.
Work has been pressing hard recently—hard enough to turn The Long Walk into The Long Work (or, to borrow the French title of King’s novel, Marche ou crève, walk or die/work or die), as I half‑joked last week.
I’ve been here before. Earlier this year, I wrote about being too sick to write, and I wish this were the same kind of temporary setback. But this time is different. Not an illness, not fatigue—something worse. A blow from work, the kind that knocks the wind out of you and pulls the ground from under your feet.
I’m simply too shaken. The news was bad—very bad—and it drained whatever energy I had left. So, no post. Not this week. I don’t have the strength, and I certainly don’t have the morale.
