Spoiler: clearly not!
COVID-19 is here to stay and those thinking otherwise may be in for a rude awakening. We failed during the first wave, and we are gotten off to a good start to tank the second one. Winter has not even started yet! I should further comment that some countries actually never bottomed out, if I would dare being sarcastic. Now, this realistic pessimism about our inability to manage this global pandemic doesn’t bode well.
The threat of a new lockdown and border closing is real.Alexandre Seillier – posted on July 23, 2020
Of course, I feel involved; this crisis affects everybody – one way or another. To add insult to injury, as I am facing the unbearable torment of being away from my to-be-growing family (see 100th post – a bittersweet celebration!), I am now dreading border closures – again1. Germany, who holds the rotating presidency of the European Union, wants to avoid this from happening. However, amid disproportionate rising COVID-19 numbers in some countries, some governments have already announced new travel restrictions.
Done with bemoaning; what is this post about?
As alluded in 100th post – a bittersweet celebration!, I recently had to confront new challenges2 (in addition to the impact of coronavirus) and, as expected, my time was (and still is) extremely scarce. Nevertheless, I managed stalling for some extra weeks with my Post Formats stratagem, and kept up with my weekly publication schedule. I had a time range – taking into account my adjusting to a new job, new country, etc. – but I hadn’t reckoned with some complications. As of today, I hope that the worst is behind us and that we will pull through. However, this traumatic episode caused, besides the distress, further delay. To make a long story short, I am still grappling with these trying times and I haven’t resumed a normal schedule yet.
As spoiled, I don’t know when I will have CogitActive back on track. While I will try to catch up on my endeavors in the coming months, the past3 impediments are obviously no good news for the podcast release. That being said, I will keep chronicling my podcasting adventure. Although I am clearly running out of time, I am not short of writing material…
Coming next: Becoming a micro-entrepreneur
1 Back in March, countries closed their borders one by one and shut out visitors despite desperate pleas from Brussels. Actually, the “Love Is Not Tourism” movement called on European Union to lift entry restrictions for binational couples separated by border, but to no avail! ^
2 You might not be aware of it, but the mini-series on Post Formats (that preceded this post) aimed also at relating these events – subliminally. Let me help you to put all the pieces of this jigsaw together. The Image post is self-explanatory: it stands for the first episode of the CogitActive Saga. The Video post represents what I have been working on since the beginning of my podcasting adventure, namely the creation of a website for my podcast. Fast-forward to present time and here comes the outbreak (Audio post). Now that you know how to play (i.e. decipher the code), you can finish the story on your own, with the Gallery and the Link posts. ^
3 Plus, I am well aware, that having a baby will change my life (and my plans). Clearly, becoming a dad – even though I will not be able to be with my loved ones at the beginning – will affect the way I spend my time; my “me” time will most probably disappear, and my “CogitActive” time will shrink even more than it did already in the past few months. ^
