Most of us spend too much time on what is urgent and not enough time on what is important.Stephen Covey
And for what result? Not only am I overwhelmed (and I don’t even have time for CogitActive; not even to write a blog post), but I am also completely drained – physically, mentally, and emotionally. As alluded to in Time management: what if you are sick?, by pushing my limits beyond reason, I am putting my health in jeopardy. I cannot ignore the problem anymore; not addressing it will have significant consequences. I have to take action and I have to start now.
The problem goes beyond the question of work-life balance and I will definitively need more than time management tips and/or techniques to address it. Of course, the first step is to get some sleep, among other healthy life habits. I am aware that this will be – at first – at the expense of my (already too limited) time, but in the end, this should prove beneficial not only for my health but also for my productivity.
Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes, including you.Anne Lamott
