Payment Method Expiration Approaching

This – Payment Method Expiration Approaching – was actually the subject of the email that I have received from SiteGround:

Hello [obstructed],

Your primary payment method – [obstructed] – expires soon.

To avoid any interruption to your hosting services, please log in to your SiteGround account to update the expiration date of your card on file.

Sincerely,

SiteGround Customer Service Team

Now, I have already covered this topic in a previous post (see Should I worry about credit card expiration with SiteGround?). However, this was before SiteGround New Client Area and I was curious to see how their more modern and mobile-friendly interface compares to their old one, the Billing tab in particular. That being said, I didn’t expect any bad surprise (as suggested by my comment in the aforementioned article after a quick tour of their New Client Area):

At least this tab is simple and functional.CogitActive

Indeed, once in the Billing section, I was already under the Billing Details sub-tab where I could see my credit card info. There was only one option in the three-dot menu: Edit. In the pop-up window, my name was already filled in. I entered the card number and CVV, updated the expiration date, and clicked on the CONFIRM button (not CANCEL). The wheel turned…

Make sure that you keep a valid credit card on file at all times. All fields on the credit card update form are required.

… and there was a quick pop-up message:

Success.
Card saved successfully.

Conclusion: the Billing tab of the New Client Area is much better than the “old” Billing section indeed – at least as far as updating the credit card info is concerned. Good job!
